Originally founded in 1973 to cater to the children of the English-speaking community, today the Library’s resources of books, videos and DVDs in English are utilized by the Florence community as well. The Library also holds a children’s party at Easter, Halloween and Christmas which gives both parents and children a chance to meet and enjoy some of the games and activities we provide. The library is open to the public from mid September through June. On Monday from 11am to 12pm. Wednesdays from 11am to 1.30pm and 4pm to 6pm . Sundays from 10.00am to 1pm. We are generously housed in the undercroft of the American Church , in Via B. Rucellai, 9.

St. James 100th Anniversary

100th anniversary of the laying of its sanctuary's cornerstone.

Recently

RECENT NEWS:……Continuous Sunday Opening: the library will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday mornings beginning March. The library is open on Mondays but in the morning only from 11:00 am to 12 noon. The Wednesday opening remains the same:.11 am to 1:30 pm and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.For the opening of the library outside these hours you can make arrangements with Kathy Kuhlman Procissi at 055 577 527 or 3493718406.

About us


Our Library is a non-profit, volunteer-run Association, that is able to replenish its stock and to cover yearly running costs by membership donations and the proceeds from the children’s parties .
Other events are scheduled throughout the year.
Our collection of books cover the ages of toddlers through to around 16 years of age.
